For this image I used the adorable Art Impressions Girlfriends stamp.

I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo black ink unto Xpress It card stock.

I paper pieced the towels and bathing suit. Here is the image before adding Glossy accents:

Here are some pictures with glossy accents added to the glasses and bottle. Notice the shimmer.

Inky Impressions Two Embellishment Challenge

This week our challenge at Inky Impressions is to use two trims.

I used this adorable stamp: Shy Little Nickie.

I colored her with copics and cut out my focal image with an oval nestie.

Then I layered unto a lacey oval.

I did the bottom border with a Martha Stewart punch.

Inky Dinky drops embellish the border.

A narrow silk ribbon adorns the oval.

Inky Impressions Copic Tutorial

Today I am going to show you how I colored the hair and jacket for this adorable stamp: Angelica's Sled from Inky Impressions

Copics used for dark brown hair:

1. First I use my darkest shade E29 for the center part. Then so I have a guide for the highlights I add my lighest shade E31 to the parts of her hair that might catch the light.

2. I go back and add E29 my darkest color to the tips of hair.

3. I then fill in with my medium shade E25.

4. I use my lightest shade E31 and go from dark to light by doing that I blend the dark to the lightest shade.

5. I go back and add touch ups to the crown and end points with my E29. And again blend it all with my E31 working dark to light.

Colors for jacket:

6. I start with my darkest color RB25 and outline my jacket so that I have a center light source. I find this is the easiest way for me to color.

7. Next i go over the RV25 with RV13 to blend those two colors.

8. With the lightest shade RV10, again I work from dar to light and fill in the jacket.

9. I did the same thing with the headband. Darkest color RV25 at the ends.

10. Then I fill in with the RV10.

Here is the finished card.

Sweet Stamps Shaped Card Challenge

Our challenge this week at Sweet Stamps is to make a shaped card.

I had so much fun with this challenge.

I made my shaped card using the Cheery Lynn French Flair Classic Stacker Dies and the Cheery Lynn French Scalloped Dies.

Stamp is the Hanging Fuschia, which I colored with copics and cut using the Nellie's Multi Frames Circles. I thread a thin silk ribbon through the die and added a pearl to the bow.

I finally used this stamp from Flourishes. I had bought it a month ago with the coordinating die and just did not get around to using it. So yesterday was the day to get it inky.

It also felt cold and blustery so this was a very appropriate stamp to use.

The Red Queen

I am just loving these new stamps from Kraftin Kimmie available at One Crazy Stamper. This is the Red Queen. I stamped her with Memento Black ink onto Express It card stock and colored her with copics: R20, R22, R24, R29, C5, C7, C9. I placed white dots with a white Ultra Fine Posca Paint marker along the border of her dress. Then I cut her out and layered her onto a die cut. I added a lime green accent ribbon.

This week our challenge at Sweet Stamps is red, white and pink.

I used Tessa (565E) and colored her with copics sketch Rosy Red.

I trimmed my focal image and layered her onto white card stock that I dry embossed with a Crafts Too Leaves embossing folder.

I created an oval frame with Cheery Lynn Designs Kiwi Oval Frame DL123.

I added a Tropical Flourish die cut and a sheer pink ribbon and red rhinestones.

I can relate to this!

I have recently acquired some very cute boy stamps.

I usually stick with the girly girls.

I colored this cute guy with copics and neatly trimmed and popped him up with some foam tape. I used a new nestie to create my layers.

I added the sentiment to a ribbon tag and added rhinestones for embellishments.

This adorable card was made from the Polka Doodles Pretty Sweet CD. Image sentiment and background papers all from the CD. I cut out the focal image with an oval nestie and layered it onto a deckled edge oval. I inked all the edges with some brown ink.

I went with red. white and pink, which seems to be a current theme.

I love these new stamps by Kraftin Kimmie. This gal is called Sophia. I colored her with copics:

R29, R24 and R22. E11, E1000 and R02, C7, C5 and C3.

I cut my focal image with a large oval nestie and layered it unto a scalloped nestie.

I added a wide red, white and pink gingham ribbon with a large rhinestone.

Sweet Stamps Winter Challenge

What does winter mean to you?

That is our challenge at Sweet Stamps for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree.

For this card I used the Winter Tree (759D) and stamped it in the Oval Lace Frame (8018H). I stamped both with Versamark, but embossed the tree with Sweet Stamps Fine Detail Pearl embossing powder. The frame was embossed with clear embossing powder. I also stamped the Happy Winter (8028) with the Pearl powder. I used the Snowflake embosssing folder on the blue card stock and white oval.

I added Pearl drops using the Pearl Pen in ice white around the edges of the Nellie's Multi frame dies MFD (013).

I just got to play with this new Happy Holidays stamp and die set from Your Next Stamp available at One Crazy Stamper.

It is so much fun to use.

First you make a template from the dies.

then you stamp your images.

Line up your template over your stamped images and trace the circles.

Now all you have to do is line up the die with the traced circles and you have perfectly cut images every time with the coordinating dies.

Wow! What a fun card to make! I made this for the telescoping challenge at Flourishes. I used the Spellbinders Label 6 die to cut out three stamped images.

I used pop up dots to layer the images.

I dry embossed the white background.

Sweet Stamps Recipe Challenge

This week we have a recipe challenge at the Sweet Stamps Blog: One ribbon or border, 2 dps, 3 embellishments.

For my card I used the Button Snowman (206G) and the Lace Tree (8006H).

I went for a monochromatic look. I stamped both images wtih Distress Clear embossing ink and then embossed using Pearl embossing powder onto Indigo Blue card stock. I neatly trimmed my images and placed them on dp cut with the Marianne Craftables (CR1202)die.

I added a ribbon and bow to the side, topped off with a coordinating brad.

I placed a pearl upon the tree top and some more bling down the ribbon.

Hi everyone - Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!

The year has flown by and for us here on the Polkadoodles blog we are taking a little well earned break for Christmas. We will be back again on 6th Jan with a brand new year year of challenges from our fabulous team and lots of very exciting news and new products! For today's card I have this adorable stamp from Art Impressions available at One Crazy Stamper! I stamped my image with Memento black ink. The fence is also from Art Impressions and that was stamped with Memento brown ink. I colored my lady with the following copics: R22, R24, R29, G24, G29 and B21, B24.

I cut out the image using a Spellbinders die.

DP is Basic Grey Nordic Holiday.

A green silk bow tops off the card.

Well, let the count down begin. I made this Christmas card for a good friend, who likes traditional red and green Christmas cards. I think this image from Flourishes is so sweet. I cut out the focal image with a Spellbinders Label 5 nestie. Sentiment was stamped in red and cut with a spellbinders ornament die. Easy Peasy.

Sweet Stamps Chipboard Challenge

Our challenge this week at the Sweet Stamps Blog is to use chipboard. Well, I had an entire stash of chipboard just waiting to be used. I stamped the gingerbread Duo (222) on some chipboard and trimmed them out. I paper piece their outfits with Authentique Wonder dp.

I stamped the Season's Greetings (982C) sentiment on some chipboard, covered it with the dp sanded and distressed the edges. I ran a green grosgrain ribbon through it.

I layered my stamped images onto dp cut with Cheery Lynn dies French Flair Stacking dies

and the Scalloped French flair Stacking dies.

Yes this adorable card was super easy to make! Why? All the elements were printed from the Polka Doodles Paper Boutique Creative Christmas CD. I used the pre colored penquin and cut him out and mounted him on designer paper also printed from that CD. Sentiment printed from that CD.

I love snow globes and this set is fabulous!

I added Santa going down the chimney and the sentiment Joy is in the Air.

Santa scene was colored with copics.

I placed the sentiment into one of the Fancy tags dies by Spellbinders.

For my card today I used the  Lace Tree (8006H) which I stamped on Wonder dp by Authentique.

I trimmed out the tree and added some Ranger stickles. Then I decorated the tree with Candi Dots.

I framed the tree with the new Cheery Lynn Japanese Garden Lace Oval die.

The Season's Greetings (982) tops off the card.

Another Free Digi from Outlawz! I colored this adorable stocking with copics. I dabbed that teddy with colorless blender to create a fur like look and added Ranger Pearls for the white of the stocking.

I trimmed out my focal image and layered it unto a snowflake nestie.

Then I added some Kaiser pearls for embellies and a white trim to the top.

Victorine Originals Ribbon Challenge

Our challenge at Victorine Originals is to use ribbon. I added a green silk ribbon and bow to my card. I stamped the Polka Dotted Christmas Tree with Memento Cottage ivy ink and layered it onto gold paper cut with an oval nestie, layered that onto white cut with an oval nestie. The sentiment Brush Merry Christmas was also stamped with Cottage Ivy and layered onto a Fancy Tag.

I used four different papers from this double sided collection to make the card below.

The beauty of using a coordinated paper pad is you know everything will go well together!

My featured stamp is Uptown Girls Victoria and Juliette's Night Out by Stampingbella.

I stamped the focal image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and paper pieced the dresses with My Mind's Eye Sunshine designer paper pad.

I colored the hair and skin with the copics below:

I cut out the focal image with a nestie and layered it onto more coordinated dp from the collection.

I cut out the sentiment with a ribbon banner.

I am thankful for so many things, the top of the list would be my family and friends, including all my wonderful design teams and members.

Today I have a new release from DRS Designs:

I just love this tree line border (981P). I stamped the trees with Versamark and then embossed them with detail white embossing powder.

For the background I tore white cardstock and stamped the top with the branches stamp.

I added the Happy Holidays stamp in the Design Tag and also embossed that in white.

I added a ribbon botton and some punched branches.

Of course, I had to make an easel card. I thought this ornament fit so well in a circle nestie so I used the Spellbinders Picot Circle to make the base for my easel card.

It is the Season. So let's see those Christmas cards.

However, this week we have a bit of a twist at Sweet Stamps Blog.

Make a Christmas card using non traditional Christmas colors.

I stamped the Lace Tree (8006H) onto Authentique Uncommon DP and trimmed my image.

I cut out a Cheery Lynn Polynesian Oval in white and layered that unto another Uncommon paper.

I used the Happy Winter Sentiment (8028B).

I used a Pearl pen in ice white to embellish the top of tree and my sentiment label.

A sheer pink ribbon and brad top off my card.

Today I have another easel card for you using

I love this set because it features lovely silhouette stamps that make for an easy peasy card.

As I mentioned earlier this week I am also loving this easel card layout. The background was dry embossed with a new Sizzix embossing folder. I wish they would stamp the names on the folders because I can never remember which ones are which.

Our challenge this week at Sweet Stamps is a color challenge: red, green and gold.

Okay those colors speak Christmas to me, so I tried to go a bit differently and chose this beautiful Tessa (565E) stamp and paper pieced her with Authentique Wonder DP. I added the Happy Winter (8028B) sentiment. I popped her up with foam tape in the Cheery Lynn Polynesian Sails Oval (DL153) and added some Cheery Lynn Flourishes (B117). Bottom border is the Carnivale die (DL129).

I added some Candi vintage dots as embellishments.

Celebrate the Season

I just got this gorgeous silhouette stamp set from Flourishes and I could not wait to play with these awesome images.

This set is called a Celebration of Seasons.

I was out and about this weekend and judging from the traffic in my little town you would have thought it was a week before Christmas. Yes, the shopping has begun!

So I might as well get a handle on my Christmas cards.

Okay, the other obsession I have right now (yes, shopping is number one) but the other card making obsession is making easel cards.

For this card I used the adorable Uptown Sushi Girl Chelsea and Lauren from Stampinbella. I paper pieced the dresses and the shopping bags with Basic Grey picadilly dp. I then colored the skin with copics: E000, E01 and E11. I cut out the main image with a square nestie. I added a border punch threaded with ribbon to the bottom of my easel card and popped on a button for an embellishment.

Today I have a new release from DRS Designs: Christmas Greeting Ornament (K844).
We had a foot and a half on snow on Sunday so we might as well think of Christmas and start making those cards.
This sentiment is so much fun to work with.
I embossed it with detail white embossing powder.
I used a nestie shaped as an ornament to cut out my focal image.
I also used the nestie to make a shaped card.
I added a silver trim bow.

For my card I used this gorgeous Tree # 3 stamp (783).

I colored it with markers and used the thumping technique to create a fall colored tree.

I cut out my focal image with Nellie's Multi Frame (MFD 020).

I added a sheer black ribbon and bow.

Black and Orange

Happy Halloween!

We received a foot of snow yesterday, so it seems more like February than the last day of October.

Yikes!

Our next challenge at Victorine Originals is to use the colors black and orange.

I decided to make a circle easel card.

I used the Witch with Cauldron (2652H) and colored the image with copics. I cut the main image with a circle nestie and layered it onto a picot circle nestie.

Spider was cut from a MS punch and glittered with Ranger Black diamond Stickles.

DP is Authentique Glowing.
